Construction of the School of Science and Technology Bayshore campus began in 2019. Construction was completed just in time for the 2020/2021 school year. The Bayshore campus is the 3rd SST campus in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The School of Science and Technology opened other new campuses in Corpus Christi in 2018 and 2019. Each of these schools was built by the local developer/builder, Bobak Mostaghasi, the president of VBM Equity Partners. In addition to the SST campuses in Corpus Christi, Bobak has also constructed SST schools in the Houston area.
The School of Science and Technology Bayshore serves students grades kindergarten through 6th. After Bayshore, students can move to the SST campuses on Evans Road to complete junior high and high school.
The gymnasium at the Bayshore campus has a middle school sized basketball court, with room along one side of the court for bleachers. There is space on the other side of the court for team benches.
The design of the gym floor includes a volleyball court and inlaid “Seating Squares”. The seating squares are a design element unique to Sport Court® gym flooring. These are often single pieces of Sport Court® flooring laid out in a pattern across the floor. These squares aid coaching staff when students need to be spread out for various activities. And, with the goal of providing social distancing when possible, the seating squares help students maintain distance.
The gym flooring chosen for the School of Science and Technology Bayshore, was Sport Court® High Gloss Response. This floor is available in 16 solid colors and 6 Maple Select options. The school chose Light Maple for the majority of the court, Ultra Red for the lanes and space outside the court, and Navy Blue for the seating squares. As with the 7 other SST campuses with Sport Court® gym flooring, the district’s logo was painted at center court.
